Remedial Massage Services
We offer Remedial Massage Services in East Perth. But, what is Remedial massage? Well, it’s the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain, and injury management. It’s performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting.
If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function. Remedial massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injury.
Deep tissue
Is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. The pressure is deeper and sometimes more intense but can also be extremely relaxing. It is also a more focused type of massage working to release chronic muscle tension and stress.
Contractual Tendon Release (CTR) and Contractual Ligament Release (CLR)
Unique to Healthy Living Massage, this type of treatment concentrates on the release of tendons and ligaments that are restricting movement and causing pain and inflammation.
Tendon and ligament release combined with deep tissue massage brings quick and effective long-term pain relief, allowing the muscles to relax and function correctly. Tendons attach muscle to bone or a structure while ligaments attach bone to bone (joints).
Spinal Torsion
Unique to Healthy Living Massage, this treatment provides relief from many acute and chronic issues by stimulating specific areas of the body to ‘wake up’ the nervous system which controls our body. As the spine torsions (think of wringing out a towel) the main nerve traveling through the spine becomes compromised effecting the nerve endings
controlling our muscles, switching some of them off so they become nonresponsive, creating compensation which over works other muscles leading to chronic pain.
Reduce Stress, Anxiety and Chronic fatigue.
Debilitating for many, the benefits massage has can be incredible for sufferers, from calming the nervous system and relaxing muscles. Prolonged stress can increase symptoms and the severity of Chronic fatigue.
Stress comes in all forms, including mental and physical. Reports show a 60-minute massage can lower cortisol, the stress hormone, by up to 30 percent after just one session.
A study published in the journal Depression and Anxiety found participants who received regular massage therapy for 12 weeks had a 50 percent reduction in anxiety symptoms. And the benefits weren’t short-lived either. Symptom reduction remained at 50 percent at the 26-week mark even after the therapy had ended.
