What to expect on your first visit?
Healthy Living Massage has been operating since 2009 and is a professional practice with a private studio, this space is safe, relaxed, casual and quiet where you can switch off, no noisy clinics and other practitioners running around.
While you are filling out a new client form, we will have a chat about your areas of concern, injuries and what has happened and work out a plan to treat them and get you back functioning normally.
A professional remedial massage
All massages are conducted using oil. So we can massage you thoroughly you will be required to undress down to your underwear and given a towel to cover yourself with, we don’t ‘spot treat’ at Healthy living Massage, we use a more thorough hands-on approach to treating so we can get you back on track sooner without compromising other parts of your body.
We'll recap what's been done
Once the massage is complete, we will discuss what has been done and chat about future sessions. As everybody is different and depending on what your issues are, please be openminded, if they are chronic and if they have been bothering you for quite some time, further treatments closer together will most likely be needed to get you functioning optimally. As our bodies are complex machines a ‘quick fix’ approach isn’t always possible.
Our goal is to get you to a place where you are injury free and then to keep you there through maintenance to prevent further issues, help managed stress and to help you stay healthy.
The benefits of remedial massage
Healthy Living Massage places a high priority on overall health by keeping the body maintained with regular ongoing sessions once your injury has been treated, there are many
great benefits to receiving regular massages, from prevention of serious injury and pain to calming the nervous system, reducing stress, boosting your immune system and having
increased mobility. Massage shouldn’t only be reserved for when you have hurt yourself, prevention will keep you out of damage control.
How will you feel afterwards?
This vary’s from person to person, you will feel lighter and freer throughout your body and you will feel relaxed. If you came in with pain in certain areas of your body, then this will be greatly reduced if not completely gone. You may feel like you have had a workout at the gym and may experience some muscle soreness, (this is all part of the healing process and is
nothing to be concerned about) you may also feel groggy zzzz if you didn’t already fall asleep.
Please note that it is not always a ‘quick fix’, and patience is required for those with more severe or ongoing issues.
